General Discussion / Re: Can't we revive our loved Memorycoins?
« on: June 21, 2017, 06:44:38 AM »
Well, what you are suggesting is to remove one of the main facets of Memorycoin that has made it what it is previously. I think that if you guys decide now to disable the grant blocks system, I can do that, and given the fact that p2pools can work without grant blocks can give us bigger adoption rates.

I'm sure if we all decide to disable it now, I will have to recompile everything and the hard fork would be in a week from now, but at least we have a working p2pool system.

In other words, disabling the grant blocks will lead to higher miner income - and possibly less support from developers. But I'm sure that if these issues are fixed we could just hard-fork the code again.

We need to revive our limited availability memorycoin! I'm setting up a node and waiting to resync (6 peers at the moment) with great slowness. Then I'll leave it online to help sync other wallets.
Why no more exchanges? Why all the interest is lost here? That was a great coin! Good to mine without asics and limited in availability... I liked it.
Let's resume the work! :)
You're right, with the new uprise in cryptocurrencies, MMC is now a valuable coin. The current block is about 13 days ago and with our inflation rate, adoption won't hurt anyone new too badly. I can update the wallet posts with new node IP addresses and an archive of the current blockchain to speed up the block update process for newcomers.

I pinpointed the problem -
When a grant block is submitted, Memorycoin checks for the election payouts and rejects the share. The P2pool script needs to check if it's a grant block, communicate with the node, send the payouts to the correct elected addresses, then submit the block.

Updated to the latest version M8a

YAM Miners archive uploaded for those who would like to solo mine.

Some debug information to pinpoint where p2pool stalls when it solves a grant block.
The p2pool script uses GetBlockTemplate to grab the block information:
P2pool => Memorycoin EXE
The master node accepts the block, but it then verifies the payouts and refuses to accept the block because it does not contain the election winners.

Mining Pools / Re: MMC-Pools - 0% Pools - (2 Locations, 6 Pools)

What about pools? Did you solve a grant blocks mmc p2pool problem?
I have a working mmc p2pool, so if you could fix grant problem, - I'll setup a pool for everybody still interested in mmc.

The grant blocks is still an issue for P2Pool. I'll try to look at it again - and a working pool will likely help us get listed on cryptopia, to answer your other post.

We can contact yvg1900 and provide a stable p2pool for him to get his donation shares. That way he can update the miner exe when a real mining pool is set then mining can be seamless

Late reply,

The network did not have enough nodes to support connectivity to miners creating blocks, or the network temporarily stopped generating blocks.

When the difficulty decreases drastically, the network fee increases as well. It's a late reply but when more miners enter the network, network transaction fees decrease.

Mining Pools / Re: MMC-Pools - 0% Pools - (2 Locations, 6 Pools)

Having added every node directed, folks, I am now 44 weeks behind. And no way to update the block source.

I'm running wallet version v3_010_102a, the last I can find. None of the block source data packs are live anymore.
I'm back

Since the exe is old, the nodes changed due to network changes.
I have some nodes online now, I could run a recompiled version with the most recent nodes.
