Set your wallet address as the username. Payouts will be sent automatically to your wallet.

You need 80 confirmations to be paid through the coinbase as soon as a block is found though...

The Santana server will be offline for maintenance. Please divert your miners to a different p2pool.

would this work on the MMC-Square P2Pool?  I'm behind a firewall with access through port 80, and also stuck on WinXP for the next few months.

Yeah that works too.

You'll have to comment out stratum+tcp:// and replace it with getwork://

I've updated the original post to reflect minerd settings.

We have some progress and then a setback.
The antivirus on the machine didn’t pitch a fit.
 G:\Yam>minerd.exe --url http://santana.mmc-square.com:80/ --user MTAJy5cUb87QBWc4hencudTUySc2oTY1vY --threads 1
[08:38:46] HTTP request failed: The requested URL returned error: 401
[08:38:46] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 10 seconds

I suspect that the 401 error code came from our Bluecoat gateways requiring a valid account/password before opening up for program access.

 A ping to santana.mmc-square.com timed out, but to be expected if the server is configured to ignore ping.

 Thoughts on how to authenticate with the bluecoat device in a .bat file?  And I'm off to Google.

Hi Folks,
Tried the direct connect to 108.61.133.154, and that also failed.  Looks like our bluecoat proxy and/or firewalls are the blocking factors.  I tried scripting a FTP session with WGET to see if I could get the bluecoat devices to authenticate but was not successful there either.  An HTTPS session might work if the pool servers support it? Or a good future enhancement?
Thanks for your time..

Have you tried bypassing firewall with a VPN? How about SSH tunnel?

VPN tunnel out was blocked/didn't work.. A tunnel in is allowed ( of course with the proper two factor authentication ) This may be my error or it may be the firewalls.
Have not tried an SSH tunnel ... will have to find a tutorial and read up on them.  I'm taking time between attemps because I really don't want to tick off the network security people.

There is an Stunnel possibility to use a VPN tunnel through port 443 or any other non-peculiar port, but I don't suggest transferring large amounts of data because if your network security is picky, they can start cutting and blocking connections. This also requires a separate certificate file for encryption.

Be aware that for pool decentralization and faster share processing (p2pool runs on one processor), please avert some miners to the santana p2pool.

Those are actually yvg1900's donation pools (you donate a certain amount of shares to the pools indicated in the miner debug.) Since these pools are offline, those errors are showing.

Our pool uses stratum to minimize network load and increase pool efficiency so one share may equal many local shares.

I used to run YAM with multiple pools configured, to allow better work gathering, but with the hard-fork I've converted my YAM configuration to MMC-SQUARE exclusively. It was able to pull work last night, but by morning it was no longer pulling. I upgraded the YAM to the latest M7x release, but have continually been unable to get work. My config script:
Code: [Select]
threads = 8
mining-params = mmc:av=1&aesni=on&m=1024
mine = stratum+tcp://MEYjZbVaFp6wDgUyyztrJMS7kqSNXbCBUU@mmc-square.com:8080/mmc
compact-stats = 1
print-timestamps = 0

Work attempts result in reconnects to mmc-square.com:8080, shrine.mmc-square.com:8080, and santana.mmc-square.com:8080, with no work gathered.
I've poked around and can't find any indication that the pool is up or down. Or if I am just totally clueless.

Sorry the pool is down because we discovered bugs with p2pools paying out grant blocks. It caused our network to stall since p2pool was the only pool left.

You may solo mine but at a reduced hash rate until we fix this within 24 hours. :\

Working great, now!
For other miners using YAM, the proper config:
Code: [Select]
threads = 8
mining-params = mmc:av=1&aesni=on&m=1024
mine = stratum+tcp://MEYjZbVaFp6wDgUyyztrJMS7kqSNXbCBUU@mmc-square.com:8080/mmc
mine = stratum+tcp://MEYjZbVaFp6wDgUyyztrJMS7kqSNXbCBUU@santana.mmc-square:8080/mmc
compact-stats = 1
print-timestamps = 0

Remember to use the YAM version that most closely matches your CPU specs, and the threads line should be the number of VIRTUAL CORES your system has (e.g. 4-core i7 with hyperthreading can execute 8 threads). I recommend removing a core if you are also using a GPU miner (in my case, threads = 7) to allow time for GPU work puills and submissions.
Speaking of which, does anyone know of a MMC GPU miner that isn't locked to a pool, like YAM which reads pool data from a config file? All I have is MMCPool's and 1GH's GPU miners, neither of which operate following the hard-fork.

The p2pool code will not be able to solve grant blocks so please use solo mining for blocks that are divisible by 20...

Also, we are reindexing the memorycoin nodes on our p2pool servers right now because the code was stuck on a block.

Just noted that I lost connection an hour or so ago. Now I know why.
When I can't mine, I feel guilty for burning electricity!

Pool fee has been raised to 5% for the next two weeks to accommodate the extra maintenance required to keep the p2pool servers online.

All proceeds go to the MCF Charity, and will be used to provide liquidity to Memorycoin's exchange rate.

Those are pools that are no longer online.
We host the only two p2pools for the network and will add more.

Share difficulty is different than block difficulty.

NOTE (MINERS ON THE OLD POOLS)
Old MMC-Square pools running on 108.61.133.155/ 108.61.133.154 and 108.61.133.158 have raised to 6% fees in order to encourage the movement of miners to the new servers. (These pools are going down on the 24th due to server migration.)

It seems Pool 1 & 2 is not working, the others - 3,4,5,6 is working now.
I think the next implementation would be to get total HPM info and reflect in one of our blockexplorers - like Block Experts, as they have an option for that.
What do you think, delinquency? Is it possible?

I started mining from last night and I found something quite weird about the pool. At first, I got some coins mined at pool 5 and the pool sent out payment. But there was window of like an hour where I didn't get paid at all even though I still submitted shares and accepted, other active members get paid normally during this hour. Then I switched pool to 4 and started again and I got paid for like 30 minutes and then it stopped for 5 hours, and then I got paid again. So what happened during those "down" time? Other active members still got paid though except me, my address from the payout sheet was gone. My hashrate is above 15H/m and I got nothing.
Everything is reflected in the transaction list of the wallet. Any ideas guys?

The pools are isolated from each other, unlike p2pool in general.

I notice that your amount could be discarded given you have a small hashing speed. I think the original p2pool code calculates the payout to the nearest satoshi and keeps a total payout sheet for the current block if found by the individual, isolated p2pool.

If the pool has a generally higher hash rate than the others, you'll get faster payouts.

The memorycoin nodes need to be started manually. Usually if the server resets the database becomes corrupt and I have to re-install a backed up copy of the blockchain.

I can set up a script to do this automatically, but for now, the server rarely resets every 30 days.

I think, maybe your problem in incorrect running string?

Under Linux I run Yam: admin[~]#./yam -c ./yam-mmc.cfg &
assuming that Yam miner and yam-mmc.cfg file in your home dir.

In Windows I have a start.bat file for Yam with string: C:\Users\Admin\Desktop\yam\yam.exe -c C:\Users\Admin\Desktop\yam\yam-mmc.cfg
assuming that Yam miner and config file in "yam" folder on desktop.

My question now is that since I have a total of 4 working pools for this community, what should my pool priority be (or does it even really matter)? Right now, I have them set up in this order.

For TX payment purposes I'd suggest going to a lower HPM pool if you plan on mining for a long time, as that will decrease TX Inputs and your overall fee for transactions.

MMC-Pools - 0% Pools - (1 Location, 4 Pools) MORE COMING!
« Reply #69 on: May 10, 2015, 03:33:56 AM »
would this work on the MMC-Square P2Pool?  I'm behind a firewall with access through port 80, and also stuck on WinXP for the next few months.

Glitchman's MMC Miner
Linkback: https://mmc-square.com/miners-library/28/cpu-glitchmans-mmc-cpu-miner-32-bit-support/44/

Also note that YAM includes AES-NI disabled settings, making it more efficient to mine on CPU vs. the outdated glitchman's miner.

All previous Memorycoin pools have been shutdown.

List of pools that were shut down:
pool4.mmc-square.com
pool5.mmc-square.com
mmc-square.com

We are reformatting our old server in order to provide more Memorycoin services.

In an effort to keep existing miners on the network, the DNS records are now pointing to the pool located at
http://tx-a24.mmc-pools.com:8080/static/

The server reset. It shouldn't be a problem because miners have a fail-over queue.

 ::) and yes I know the start-up script on boot will minimize downtime. I'm working on setting that up soon.

Hi, Delinquency!

Pool http://tx-c21.mmc-pools.com:8081/ shows that a current block value is 3.71935286
Is it normal? Yesterday block value was 2.86935285

I''m back, as I finally finished my hardware cooling upgrade, but...

I'm running the latest YAM code, with mmc-forum.com and tx-c21.mmc-pools.com, and receive work correctly, but after a while it cycles but receives no work, but shows no error in operation. Shutting down the miner and restarting resolves the issue... for a while. Am I seeing a networking issue, or... what?

On the other side... 8 cores at 5.8Ghz, oh, my! Well worth the trouble!

Miners get paid fees when coins are transferred on the network. As the block-chain becomes more active, more coins will be transmitted, and miners will receive more profits.

On my Surface Pro 3, running the YAM client causes my OS to completely prevent DNS requests from happening.
When I set it down to three or two cores instead of four, the DNS requests start working.

In both the above situations, pings were working.

So you need to find a configuration set up that doesn't ruin your computer.

I've never had the problem before, and it seems to have resolved itself with no change on my part.

I use the Kaspersky IS Enterprise firewall, and have given YAM full access to the network. Now both my FX system and my Lenovo tablet (same i5 processor used in the Surface Pro 3) are both running fine. Weird.

Same for mmc-forums.com, also down.

This is why I keep a large number of pools in my configuration, I usually have a fallover.

Trying to do some load balancing here! I'm allocating more resources to the MySQL database that runs the forum and other services.
Mostly the tx-c21 node doesn't run any more p2pool servers.

It seems that I have that issue on my Windows PC. I think YAM should be restarted every 24 hours to prevent errors.

The tablet is started manually, just runs over night. The FX machine, on the other hand, starts and stops YAM sessions at different levels throughout the day. A YAM session never runs longer than 8 hours. So long-run issues aren't the fault.

Anyway, I'm hoping to get a quad-core Haswell i5 built soon so I can have a pure mining machine. Remains to be seen, as funds are always tight.

These are the current pools hosted by MemoryCoin, for use in programs like YAM:
Code: [Select]
tx-a24.mmc-pools.com:8081/mmc
tx-a24.mmc-pools.com:8080/mmc
ca-w3r.mmc-pools.com:80/mmc
ca-w3r.mmc-pools.com:443/mmc
ca-w3r.mmc-pools.com:8082/mmc
ca-w3r.mmc-pools.com:8083/mmc

These pools may not all be on at the same time, so you should have them ALL in your mining config so the program can select working pools.

If you are solo mining using the MemoryCoin Wallet, it does not need a pool and works directly with the MemoryCoin servers directly.

I'm sorry about the downtime
The pools need some manual maintenance especially since my VPS providers enjoy resetting their servers without prior notice.
I will try to get an automated system up to keep the servers online and running automatically

Sorry for the wait.
I'm almost done with the automatic Memorycoin block-chain packager.

The script is written on PHP for lightweight versatility on servers.
This script is important because when Memorycoin nodes reboot or crash, servers can download from a website OR it can be modified to run the latest saved copy of the blockchain.

This would make specific nodes 100% stable without any maintenance.

I'm back, but MMC is gone? No pools that I can find, and I can't get my wallet to update at all, let alone solo-mine.

I have thousands in my wallet, but no way to access them. Please tell me this is temporary, or at least I can update and then transfer my MMC to an exchange!

My friend, please, post here your wallet version (maybe it's outdated?) and nodes from your wallets .conf file.

For example, this is from my synced wallet:
addnode=mmc-square.com
addnode=195.66.101.37
addnode=167.114.156.87
addnode=213.107.108.202

I'm running wallet version v3_010_102a, the last I can find. None of the block source data packs are live anymore.

I'm back

Since the exe is old, the nodes changed due to network changes.
I have some nodes online now, I could run a recompiled version with the most recent nodes.

What about pools? Did you solve a grant blocks mmc p2pool problem?
I have a working mmc p2pool, so if you could fix grant problem, - I'll setup a pool for everybody still interested in mmc.

The grant blocks is still an issue for P2Pool. I'll try to look at it again - and a working pool will likely help us get listed on cryptopia, to answer your other post.

If I remember correctly, the latest mmc p2pool code requires an update to the expected block payout value as well. It was statically set to one of the previous years block payout values.
