[CMO] stalemate
« on: June 30, 2014, 09:20:03 AM »
After discussing some details with my friends and business partners, I decided to declare my candidancy for Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) position. Some of you know me from early days of MemoryCoin. You can find my past candidacy thread from here: https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php?topic=2116.0

A brief information about me
I'm founder of Coaex Precious Metals, the first merchant that accepts MemoryCoin and the first e-commerce cryptocoin store in Turkey.
I'm currently working as a Project Manager/Content Specialist in a Turkish PR/Marketing company.

To summarize what I have done, so far

Get MemoryCoin listed in CoinPayments.net : Recently, there is a voting/donation system for the altcoins to be accepted in CoinPayments but back in those days, I offered my translation service to CoinPayments in exchange for listing MemoryCoin and it was listed. (Reference: https://www.coinpayments.net/help-translate)

Translation of MemoryCoin.org website into Turkish

My other activities related to Cryptocoin industry
Blackcoin and Fluttercoin gold bullion designs
Translation of Blackcoin wallet and pool into Turkish (voluntarily)
Attending biweekly Bitcoin meet-ups in Istanbul

To-Do List
Things have changed since my last candidacy announcement so you can ignore my previous To-do list in Bitsharestalk. The value of MemoryCoin against BTC declined too much and reached a level that wouldn't satisfy any of the officers, investors and miners. In my opinion, there are several factors that depreciate MemoryCoin including but not limited to poor exchange/mining pool decentralization (even though there are some improvements in mining, recently), lack of merchants and unique projects, poor project management and release of new successful hybrid coins (mainly Blackcoin).
There are many steps to be taken to increase recognition of MemoryCoin but I'm going to keep my projects confidential for a while and introduce them slowly.
I have some experimental projects like that : https://www.coaex.com/fluttercoin-gold-bullion-details/ and as you may notice, these are applicable for any altcoin or a specific project. My projects is not limited to Coaex. As I mention before, I'm currently working in a PR/Marketing company and I have some key contacts to boost any project, professionally but please note that I'm (or we're) not satisfied with current level of salary, yet we have some hopes to increase it by adding value to MemoryCoin. What I'm going to do is to give it a try and do my best with this low salary.

Just figured you should change this under your forum profile:
Quote
I don't like MMC

Besides the possibility of losing team productivity because of your previous activity as a community member, which may be unappealing to shareholders, I'll be voting for you.

As the first merchant accepting MMC, we can utilize use your talents when it comes to providing Memorycoin users with ways to use their coins. Your Marketing/PR background certainly has the features of an outstanding CMO candidate. CoinPayments.net was also a great add for Memorycoin because merchants can easily choose to accept MMC from there. Another positive is that you may also bring in good ideas from those Bitcoin meetings.

I think you're a strong candidate and you will get the position easily.

No, I shouldn't. I want people to elect me while knowing the fact that I don't like MMC. (Sounds weird, huh?)
In this regard, you should realize that I'm not kind of guy to change my attitude/thoughts in the name of being elected, which motivates me lower than my previous candidacy.
What I wrote there is valid and will be valid until we, all together, start talking about the truth and accept the fact that previous management is failed. I don't have time for bullshit talks or endless discussions. So you better stop questioning me. Besides, what do you want from me? To like MMC community/you/officers in a sudden while getting negative critics all the time? No way! The fact is that I don't like MMC but this will not effect to be in solidarity with you or other officers.
Markets say that you and/or previous officers are failed so it's better to follow my path regarding marketing and react responsibly. Better PM me next time for the sake of MMC.

You shouldn't relate prices to the success of the coin unless you're looking for profit. The memorycoin community has improved since the new management. More potential investors and adopters have joined the community.

Who do you expect to hold Memorycoins if it wasn't  actually valued as something? There are still believers in the coin and our team have been keeping them satisfied.

You cannot possibly correlate the market to the dev team's failures unless you can attribute real evidence to this "huge price decrease" in a bearish market. We decreased the momentum of the strong market sentiment should you seriously take a look to analyze the market history.
Technically we're setting up for a market pattern for a bull market and with identified zone levels to prevent extra unnecessary volatility.

By all means, the fact that you have a strong opinion about things can be harmful to your productivity on the team. It doesn't have to matter if you like the community, the team, or even me. I just want to know that we're not going to slack with discussions that have no purpose.

As a potential marketing officer, I should relate prices to the success of the coin, no matter what and you should, too. If you are still insisting that coin has improved, yes, I agree with you in some parts like pool decentralization. However, there is no change with exchange decentralization, yet.

By all means, the fact that you have a strong opinion about things can be harmful to your productivity on the team. It doesn't have to matter if you like the community, the team, or even me. I just want to know that we're not going to slack with discussions that have no purpose.

Believe me, it wouldn't be so harmful to MemoryCoin as it's depreciated this much. All you have to do is to trust me.
This candidacy post will remain only for 3 days. (3rd of July) So it's better you guys decide quickly.

My suggestion to avoid market depreciation: Effective immediately after I get elected, I'm going to use a small portion of Coaex' profit in purchasing MemoryCoin from Bter market. I am aware of the fact that the decision may or may not be welcomed by other coins that we support but it's necessary for you!

Hello Stalemate,
Everyone is free to make a candidature for every job in Memorycoin. I dont understand is your objective for your position.

You say you dont have time for "I don't have time for bullshit talks or endless discussions. So you better stop questioning me. Besides, what do you want from me? To like MMC community/you/officers in a sudden while getting negative critics all the time? No way! The fact is that I don't like MMC but this will not effect to be in solidarity with you or other officers."
If you dont have time for people to bullshit talks or discussions about stuff related to memorycoin, where you going to get time to make something for the community?
How many Memorycoins you have? Just asking this to understand if you only what to get elected to dump your coins if the price get up.
The other thing i dont understand is that your candidacture is only valid for 4 days? Why? Personally i dont like ultimatums.
I dont have anything personal against you. If you are elected i will work with you, and help in everything you need.
CSO Vote Address: MVTEcsoS5YnxyhAF4Dx4GB7VLKRF325JGa
Please send 0.00000001 MMC to vote for me as your new CSO!

Correct me if I'm wrong but so far I know, an officer is now getting paid around 0.50$ worth of MemoryCoin, daily.
I'm going to make an effort valued of 2.00$ (or 4x) worth of Memorycoin, daily and hope for the prices to increase to a satisfactory level.

How many Memorycoins you have?
I haven't got any MemoryCoin for 2-3 months. I sold my investment (losing around 0.50 BTC) + the MMCs gathered from translation task of MMC couple of months ago. The money I lost is not driving me crazy, the approach of previous officers and poor management drives me crazy, a lot.

Just asking this to understand if you only what to get elected to dump your coins if the price get up.
Please check my older posts, especially transparency part in Bitsharestalk to fully understand my approach and my fights against former CMOs - itsik. It's already written there.

The other thing i dont understand is that your candidacture is only valid for 4 days? Why? Personally i dont like ultimatums.
It's part of my guerilla marketing strategy. They haven't noticed what I'm trying to do for 6 months.

I dont have anything personal against you. If you are elected i will work with you, and help in everything you need.
Sure, I'd love to work with you.

Your votes as of now are 102k vs. >402k needed.

Seems that tomorrow had appealed to shareholders who are in the asia region to achieve that vote power (402k).

Having your CMO address in your signature or instead of your "I don't like MMC" might help as well.

I just noticed that I'm able to modify your post by a misclick. Anyway, left it untouched.
As for your suggestion, I should tell you that I'm sick of this "political correctness".

You now have 2 days left and this is a clear threat. Either elect me or forget me forever.
